The UWA libraries are visited over 2 million times each year and within the five library spaces there are several digital channels through which we can share promotional messages with library users. The University Library curates content for these channels and content is accepted according to the following conditions and requirements.

Conditions of use:
  • We welcome content relevant to the UWA community, including UWA events, UWA services, UWA student clubs/projects/work, School events, Research events, etc.
  • Content must adhere to the UWA Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
  • Commercial advertising is not accepted.
  • There is no charge to use the digital promotional channels below.
  • Printed promotional materials (e.g. posters, flyers) are not accepted in the libraries.
  • Although we aim to meet all bookings requests, this service is offered at the discretion of the library and dependent on library staff availability.
There are two channels available to eligible users:
  1. Barry J Marshall Library Video Wall - the video wall in the foyer of the Barry J Marshall Library is an array of nine 1920 x 1080 pixel Toshiba LCD Displays (in a 3 x 3 arrangement), each feature a slimline 5.6mm Bezel (gridline) in between them. It can display videos (with out sound) or still images. Multiple images/videos usually rotate on screen. Exclusive use of the video wall is generally only for events in the foyer.
  2. Library Digital Entrance Signage - Reid, Marshall, Beasley Law and Warren libraries all have a digital screen for signage just inside the library entrance. These display still images only. Multiple images usually rotate on the screens
Guidelines for preparing digital signage:
  • Less is more. Keep text short, sharp and catchy.
  • Think about the audience. Undergraduate students are the heaviest users of the libraries.
  • Images should be high resolution (especially for the video wall).
  • If providing URLs, use a link shortener so the audience can capture the link.
