What does the Careers Centre do?
The UWA Careers and Employability Centre is here to help UWA students and recent graduates with their career decision marking, employability skill development, labour market awareness and industry engagement.

Our range of services includes:
  • One-on-one Careers Advice, Job Application Review appointments and assistance from qualified careers counsellors. Current students can make an appointment with a Career Adviser by attending an initial triage drop-in in Student Central. Drop-ins run Monday to Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm, no bookings are needed. Alternatively, you can call 6488 2258 or email the Careers Centre to discuss your enquiry and book an appointment.
  • Weekly workshops to assist students to develop their employability skills, covering topics such as Resumes, Cover Letters, Job Search Tips, Networking and LinkedIn Profiles, Interviews etc.
  • Specialised presentations to assist postgraduate students in developing industry specific employability skills and labour market awareness.
  • CareerHub - a vast online database of digital resources and documents, including an online job and internship search tool, plus event and appointment booking sites
  • VMock Resume and LinkedIn Profile Checker - an online smart career platform which students can use to get instant feedback on their Resume and LinkedIn profile.
  • Opportunities to engage with employers via seminars and careers fairs
  • Career Mentor Link - A structured industry mentoring program where students are matched with mentors from relevant disciplines and industries
  • The UWA Careers and Employability Award - which uses evidenced-based strategies to build students’ self-awareness of job preferences, career decision-making and job application skills. Students develop a personalised Career Toolkit and employability skills by participating in workshops, volunteering, work experience and extracurricular activities. This achievement is recognised on students' co-curricular transcript on completion of the award.
  • Big Interview - which students can use to practice their interviewing skills
